Firewall Freeware
RegWacker:
|
Win95/98/NT4/:
Do you know that even if you have a firewall and quality antivirus program your machine can still be spotted
and tracked on the Internet? Here is a great tool for people that want to remove all traces of themselves
and their machines. The program has been designed in order to change the system policies in force
on a Windows based system. The following operating systems are supported are: Windows 95 OSR2
Windows 98 Original Release ( not yet tested on release 2), Windows NT4 - note the policies that work
on NT are highlighted in MAROON (not yet tested on Windows 2000). 616 K

XploiterStat Lite:
|
Win95/98/NT/2000/:
XploiterStat Lite is a network management tool in a similar vein to the dos program 'Netstat.exe' -
i.e. shows all the connections to your machine, listening ports (identifying trojans) etc. allowing
you the user to see TCP/UDP & ICMP connections are present on your machine. This is the latest
release of the program formerly known as Totostat Enhanced. It can be used by networking
professionals to determine what connections are on the machine at any time along with all the
ports that may be listening (i.e. services, trojan horses etc.). 597 K

Gopher Smoker:
|
Win95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP/:
This simple piece of software fixes the gaping hole in Microsoft Internet Explorer caused by
exploiting gopher services. Microsoft has decided not to release a patch, making this a good
alternative to securing your system before the exploit becomes commonplace in IE attacks. 256 K

ID-Blaster Plus:
|
Win95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP/:
In Windows, many applications have something called a "product ID number", a "GUID" or a
"Unique ID number". This number may be the same through Internet Explorer, Windows Media
Player - even the operating system itself. Since this number nevers changes, it would be the
PERFECT way a malicious person or even an advertising company could track your habits.
Maybe through a malicious Web site ActiveX control, or java applet. Well why not just delete it?
In this case, you would have a constant ID of nothing - and given the small number of people that
might also have that "null" value, it could still be used to track you. ID-Blaster Plus works by
changing these ID numbers frequently, destroying tracking tactics using these numbers. ID-Blaster
can run from the system tray, using up very little resources, and constantly protect you in the
background.

MRU-Blaster:
|
Win95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP/:
MRU-Blaster is an all-new program, made to do one large task - detect and clean MRU (most
recently used) lists on your computer. These MRU lists contain information such as the names
and / or locations of the last files you have accessed. But they are located ALL OVER your registry,
and for almost ANY file type. By looking at these MRU lists, someone could determine what files
you opened / saved / looked at, what their file names were, and much more! (And, in many cases,
the lists are displayed in drop-down menus automatically.) 404 K

Securepoint Firewall Server:
|
Win95/98/NT/2000:
A firewall has to protect an organization's network from undesired attacks from outside. At present
a firewall is mostly used to protect a LAN from the Internet. In recent past large organizations
increasingly employed firewall systems to protect different network segments. Securepoint
Firewall Server is designed exactly for these purposes. Securepoint Firewall is a very secure firewall
solution for protecting your Internet gateway. Securepoint can as well be used with existing firewalls
and to protect interconnected locations or divisions. 72 MB (Download = Free. Purchase CD = $129.00 US)

SpywareBlaster:
|
Win95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP/:
SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.
How? By setting a "kill bit" for the CLSIDs of spyware ActiveX controls, it prevents the installation
of any of them from a Web page. (You'll never find such nonsense at LightLinks2000.com).
You can still run Internet Explorer with Active-X enabled, but you will never even get a "Yes/No"
box popped up, asking you to install a spyware Active-X control (Internet Explorer will never
download or run it!) All other Active-X controls or plug-ins will work fine. 447 K

GFI LANguard System Integrity Monitor:
|
Win2000/XP/:
GFI LANguard System Integrity Monitor is an application that provides intrusion detection
by checking whether files have been changed, added or deleted. If this happens, it alerts the
administrator by email. Because hackers need to change certain system files to gain access,
this program provides a great means to identify any servers that are open to attack. 6.1 MB
